Susan M. Schultz (USA)1958
Susan M. Schultz was born in Belleville, Illinois in 1958, and grew up on the east coast. She has lived and taught in Hawai’i since 1990.
Among her books are Aleatory Allegories, Memory Cards & Adoption Paters, And then something happened. Schultz edited The Tribe of John: Ashbery and Contemporary Poetry (University of Alabama Press, 1995) and wrote A Poetics of Impasse in Modern and Contemporary American Poetry (University of Alabama Press, 2005).
Since 1995 she has edited Tinfish Press, which specializes on experimental poetry from the Pacific region. She is a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team.
In 2008 she published Dementia Blog about her mothers battle with Alzheimer's, and in 2013 published a second related volume, She's Welcome to Here Disease. Her most recent books are I Want to Write an Honest Sentence (2019) and Lilith Walks (2022).
